Forelle Pear Pomegranate Tart

For the longest time I’ve been wanting to bake something “cute”. Something involving what I like to refer to as, “baby fruit” or of the smallest of their variety.

This weekend as I was doing my Thanksgiving day grocery shopping I came across some of the most perfect Forelle Pears I’ve ever seen, so I picked up about a couple pounds worth and brought them home with me along with an 18 pound turkey, 6-8 ounce packages of cream cheese, herbs galore, some prosciutto, veggies, a decent amount of blue cheese, oh and enough booze to hold me up as I attempt to prepare our family’s Thanksgiving day dinner.

Pumpkin Creme Brûlée Martini

Time to face reality, Thanksgiving is next Thursday and I pretty much have nothing ready.

Let me take that back, because “nothing” sounds pretty harsh, and it’s a reality I don’t particularly feel like facing right at this moment.

Chocolate Nocello Mousse Cake

The past few weeks have been a little chaotic to say the least, in the Tavares homestead. While my husband and I were in Mexico I learned that I would be traveling to Tokyo for work the day I returned. Trust me, I didn’t complain. That trip turned out to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
