EAT PRAY LOVE DVD & Blu-Ray Release

I don’t know how you feel about them, but there is just something about food themed movies that hits me right here [places hand over heart].

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching Julie & Julia, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Cocolat, or Ratatouille for example.

So you can just imagine my excitement when I learned I was invited to a special lunch to celebrate the Release of Eat Pray Love on Blu-Ray and DVD with special guests Producer Dede Gardner and Food Stylist Susan Spungen hosted by Sony Entertainment at Vincenti Ristorante.

ChocoMintArita Macarons

Yes, I did it again… I created another margarita/tequila inspired macaron.

I’m sure you would have taken exactly the same course of action if someone invited you to a “Ladies Night In” event sponsored by Sauza Tequila right?

And if that wasn’t reason enough…

Let’s just say you were also going to be treated to a private cooking demonstration given by the very talented Food Network Chef from Mexican Made Easy and Author of Fresh Mexico: 100 Simple Recipes for True Mexican Flavor; Marcela Valladolid.

See… I knew I made the right decision.

Chef Marcela Valladolid

This chica has it all, talent, beauty, mean cooking skills, and tons of charm!

Yuzu Macs

A plethora of macaron shells waiting to be filled and packed for a trip up north to the Second Anual FoodBuzz Festival 2010

Macaron Shells

As soon as I walked into the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, I felt like I had been transported into the late 1920s by it’s prevalent Art Deco interior design.

Over the hills and through the woods...

It’s off to work we go…

Oh, but before we go, I just wanted to let you know that I’m so thankful for all your votes and awesome comments. It because of them I’m able to keep going, love ya!

Like I said, because of *you* I find myself writing this 6th post in the Project Food Blog challenge.

At first I couldn’t decide in what direction to take this post. Then, I had an aha! moment. I decided I wanted you to get to know me a little better, and that’s why I’m taking you to work. Don’t worry I won’t make you code… unless you want too? 😉

As you can see from the pictures in the film strips above, my drive is actually quite scenic (aside from the gloomy weather). I drive above Lake Elsinore through Cleveland National Forest over Ortega Hwy (This road has more curves than Marilyn Monroe!), a two lane road which then drops me off in San Juan Capistrano. After a quick ride on Interstate 5 and toll road 73 we arrive in beautiful Aliso Viejo, CA.

Kings of Pastry

A couple of weeks ago I received an invitation from Chef Sherry Yard inviting me to the Los Angeles Premier of “Kings of Pastry” and a Dessert Reception hosted by her, Benefiting C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program) at Spago following the movie.

Upon receiving the invitation I initially thought I would just be helping out setting up for the dessert reception however, once I found out I was actually invited to both I was on cloud 9!
