Beach Scene Cake

NEWSFLASH… beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.

I realize I’m interrupting today’s regularly scheduled cocktail post.

I know it’s Friday, and you probably need a cocktail just as badly as I do. —May I suggest having a nice glass of red while I get my act together.

Just so you know, I have two very valid reasons for my actions.

Thanksgiving Turkey

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Ours was somewhat quiet since I had to report into work bright and early Friday morning.

We kicked off the morning by making a small batch of this port cranberry sauce.

San Francisco Ferry Building

Today I wanted to share with you just a handful of notes I made to myself this past weekend while I attended the FoodBuzz 3rd Annual Blogger Festival in San Francisco:

  • When going on a short trip there really is no reason to pack every single electronic device you own, your iPhone will do. (Being a computer geek is no excuse.)
  •

    Chef Sherry Yard

Brilliant, Innovating, Charming, Spunky, Fun, and Energetic (to say the least) are just a few of the adjectives that immediately come to mind when I think of Chef Sherry Yard.

The following shots are just a “tiny” glimpse into the day I spent lending a hand for Decadence, the after party Chef Sherry hosted during the Los Angeles Food & Wine event.

    Desserts & Cars

Pumpkin Mini Tarts topped with Meringue

In addition to constantly dreaming about desserts, I find myself quite frequently dreaming about cars, fast cars. There’s one dream where I find myself cruising around Monaco then all of a sudden an insatiable craving for a Parisian Macaron takes over me, so I’m forced to hop into my car and speed up to Ladurée Champs Elysées for my mac fix.

Some of my dreams are a bit less extravagant… Like the one where I’m driving one of these around a race track. Some of you might even find the next one well, just plain boring because all it consists of is me driving one of these over Ortega Highway to work every day.

The point I’m trying to make here is that I have an appreciation for fast cars. So when Tamsin from The Supper Club asked if I would be interested in catering dessert for the 25th Anniversary of Heritage Classics in West LA last week I wasn’t about to say no.
