“You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You’re as cuddly as a cactus,
You’re as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.
You’re a bad banana
With a greasy black peel…”
Lyrics: Dr. Seuss
Music: Albert Hague
“You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” has to be one of my all time favorite songs to sing-a-long as soon as the radio stations switch over to their Holiday programming.
I was having a hard time trying to decide what cocktail to make for you this week, luckily as I was driving home one evening this song began playing on the radio —I of course began singing along. As the words “greasy black peel” blasted through the speakers, I had an “Aha!” moment. —It was then when visions of Whoville banana shots began dancing in my head.
You may be asking yourself, how I got from a bad banana with a greasy black peel, to a rich, creamy, and incredibly tasting banana shot. So, I’ll tell you… it was the Whoville Effect. —The Whoville effect is what transformed the Grinch.
The Grinch, despite having started off with a heart with an empty hole and soul that was an appalling dump heat. Once he realized that in spite of having taken all the Whos packages, decorations, and roast beasts; he hadn’t stopped Christmas from coming —he was puzzled yet, he began feeling something warm in his chest. Once he heard the sweet sound of the Whos singing Christmas carols his heart actually began to grow. It was all over once Cindy Lou went up to Mt. Crumpit, there was no grinch left in the Grinch.
The Grinch returned all the presents, decorations, stockings and food to the Whos. And we are told they actually had the Happiest Christmas Day they had ever known.
Merry Grinch-less-mas!

These look dangerous and incredibly delicious at the same time. I love creamy drinks too–hmm. Great idea! Love the inspiration from the books, haha.
Have to try this! I’ve never tried a chocolate cocktail before. Could be dangerous. I see many more hours at the gym.
These shots sound really delicious and beg to be tried. This is my first visit to your blog, so I took sometime to browse through your earlier posts. I’m so glad I did that. You’ve created a great spot for your readers to visit and I really enjoyed the time I spent here. I’ll definitely be back.
For a person who doesn’t drink, ME, you gave me great ideas for my guests. Thank you!!!

Hi, Just found your site and have spent last hour going through your cocktail recipes. I would love to know which “creme” is used as the 2nd ingredient? I’m not a huge drinker (sooo many calories) and I’m not sure which creme liqueur you’ve used. Thanks so much!
