Pumpkin Mini Tarts topped with Meringue

In addition to constantly dreaming about desserts, I find myself quite frequently dreaming about cars, fast cars. There’s one dream where I find myself cruising around Monaco then all of a sudden an insatiable craving for a Parisian Macaron takes over me, so I’m forced to hop into my car and speed up to Ladurée Champs Elysées for my mac fix.

Some of my dreams are a bit less extravagant… Like the one where I’m driving one of these around a race track. Some of you might even find the next one well, just plain boring because all it consists of is me driving one of these over Ortega Highway to work every day.

The point I’m trying to make here is that I have an appreciation for fast cars. So when Tamsin from The Supper Club asked if I would be interested in catering dessert for the 25th Anniversary of Heritage Classics in West LA last week I wasn’t about to say no.

For this event I decided to make Pumpkin Mini Tarts with a Hazelnut crust and topped with delicately torched swirl of meringue. These were inspired by this britsh automaker.

Inspired by this French automaker I decided to make Pistachio Macarons filled with White Chocolate Pistachio Ganache and Coffee Macarons filled with an Irish Cream Buttercream. The delicate Butterscotch Spritz Cookies you also see above were dipped in Bittersweet Chocolate and topped with English Toffee bits, those were inspired by my all time favorite.

Honey Bourbon Panna Cotta Honey Bourbon Panna Cotta

Since I happen to be fascinated by all things Italian, I wasn’t about to leave out this fabulous automaker. Hence, the reason I chose to make Honey Bourbon Panna Cottas which were drizzled with an apricot-peach coulis and topped with candied pine nuts just before serving.

BMW Gerge Swiss
The Supper Club Sea Bass

Dessert & Cars… two of my favorite things!

This is quite possibly the most fabulous post I have ever read. And I completely understand the strange combination as it also describes my passions.

Tough choice. Pastries or classic cars… definitely pastries! :)

Wow! What a bumper post! Love it. I can just imagine you in Monaco craving these macs, although who needs ladurée when your own ones are just as good? They look fabulous. As for the fast cars, it’s funny, but I’ve always wanted to try my hand at rally driving. Just once. With a dishy co-pilot. Or let’s just settle for a co-pilot that dishes up these pistachio and coffee macarons?

I would not be able to be around that many gorgeous cars and not try to hop in one and speed off like James Bond. I am envious of your catering events – but love that they are all something I would adore. These little bite sized deliciousness are perfect as well! No need to get crumbs on any upholstery!
