The weather here in Southern California has been scorching hot. Yet, I have to admit I’ve secretly enjoyed my morning drives into work. Which have consisted of an open sunroof, clear blue skies, 75+- degree breezes, and me singing my little lungs out to the tunes of Deadmau5, Lady Antebellum, and Black Eyed Peas to name a few (my fellow commuters are probably thanking their lucky starts the 74 remains a 2-lane hwy.).
As much as I love summer though, I think it’s time to start bidding it farewell. At least that’s what I’ve been lead to believe thanks to a few shops I visited this past week, who’s Fall and Halloween decor happens to be out and displayed front and center.
Before we switch gears though and start thinking about pumpkin pie spice, mulled wine, apple pie, and pomegranates, while we are still able to enjoy a decent amount of sunlight once we get home. I think we all should make the most of what’s left of the Summer of 2011 and and refresh ourselves this weekend with a cool and crisp cocktail.
Hence my Coconut Guava Martini…
- 2 ounces coconut vodka
- 2½ ounces guava nectar
- ½ ounce sweetened lime juice
- Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, shake and serve into a martini glass.
