I don’t know how you feel about them, but there is just something about food themed movies that hits me right here [places hand over heart].
I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching Julie & Julia, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Cocolat, or Ratatouille for example.
So you can just imagine my excitement when I learned I was invited to a special lunch to celebrate the Release of Eat Pray Love on Blu-Ray and DVD with special guests Producer Dede Gardner and Food Stylist Susan Spungen hosted by Sony Entertainment at Vincenti Ristorante.

Dede Gardner who produced the film is also president of Plan B Entertainment and has an upcoming film starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, The Tree of Life. You know I’m not missing that one!
Dede and Susan delighted us all as they shared their behind the scenes adventures during the filming of the movie.

The typical blogger scene… it must always include a camera or two.

Lunch started with a caprese bite and followed with a butter lettuce salad dressed with the most amazing polenta croutons and a parmigiano dressing. For our main course we had an assortment of pizzas. My top two favorites were with artichoke, burrata cheese, zucchini flowers and prosciutto pizza and the housemade sausage, fresh porcini, mozzarella and black truffle pizza (need I say more?). For dessert we enjoyed coffee and assorted cookies.

I was so lucky to spend a few moments chatting with Susan. Not only was she the food stylist on Eat Pray Love, her work was also featured in Julie and Julia, and It’s complicated! To her talents we also need to add… fantastic cook, recipe developer, and she also happens to be the author of Recipes: A collection for the Modern Cook, and has a second book coming out later next year!
Some new, some old faces… had a great time hanging out with these LA Bloggers as well:

Giselle from Small Pleasures Catering
Greg from Sippity Sup
Louise from Art of Cuisine

How fun to be with foodie friends – I heard an interview with her about the styling of the food. Fascinating.
My favorite food themed movie of all time would have to be Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
Hmmm….I really like Julie and Julia!
My current favorite food movie is Ratatouille! I haven’t seen Eat Pray Love yet, and I’m so excited to see it! Looks like a fun event.
I think that my favorite food based movie would be No Reservations. There was a ton of good cooking that made my mouth water!!
Looks like a great day!
Favorite food moment in movie is still the spaghetti scene from lady and the tramp-even after all these years
Fried Green Tomatoes love that movie

Too many to choose from, but the first one that seduced me was Tampopo, a ramen slurping orgasmic venture.
Siempre me duele no tener un US mailing address cuando veo estos giveaways tuyos… yo, por cualquier cosa, me quedo con la escena de la pizza y la filosofía de: “bueh… uno siempre puede comprarse unos jeans nuevos”… Un abrazo!
My favorite food themed movie is Ratatouille
I am a facebook fan!
Wonderful post and what an awesome giveaway! So wonderful to have met you, especially at such a great event.
PS – Is that Meryl Streep’s hand holding the pizza? (lol – Susan was saying how some of Meryl Streep’s hand scenes in It’s Complicated were actually her hands!)
All the best,
Veronica
Willy Wonka is a classic! NYC’s version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory is Max Brenner’s Chocolate by the Bald Man. Have you been there? So good!
My favorite would have to be Bottle Shock. Now I just need to get out to California to try some of the wine!
Either No Reservations or Ratatouille.
My favorite is definitely Ratatouille. Even though it was an animated movie (which I love), I felt like I was transported a world away. I also loved the heart warming story that anyone can cook. Great movie! Thanks so much for the opportunity to enter.

I have two favorite movies; Babette’s Feast and The Big Night! Sounds like a super fun day!
Maybe it’s cliche, but…..I really loved “Julie and Julia”…..that’s why I started blogging about food! I didn’t even read any blogs before then. Now I write one AND read a million of them

Chocolat! Oh, and “Like Water for Chocolate.”
And on occasion, “The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover.” That was so darned clever… if a bit unsettling.
Hi Josie – Fantastic idea doing a giveaway and great recap & images.
I’m glad you were able to go…wish we could’ve caught up and had some time to chat.
I love Ratatouille!I used to watch it all the time babysitting. Super cute movie. Haven’t seen this one yet…great giveaway!
And I also am a fan on facebook =)
Mystic Pizza. Ohhh, I wanted a bite! It looked SO good!
If Sideways counts as a food (and wine!) related movie, that right there is one of my all time faves. No Reservations and Julie and Julia rate a very close second. I’ve never seen or read Eat Pray Love and would absolutely love to.
