I know Halloween 2010 is just a vague memory of the past by now. Most of us have taken down all our Halloween decorations and replaced them with a more appropriate Fall/Thanksgiving theme. We’ve begun planning our Thanksgiving menu, probably started mapping out our Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping strategy.
Perhaps some of us are so far ahead of the game, we’ve already begun our Christmas cookie dough preparation and have little packages neatly labeled in our freezer ready to be baked off at a moments notice.
Oh, and I definitely know there are a few of us out there who have already begun planning for next Halloween. You can’t hide, I’ve seen you at the store picking up all those sweet deals. 😉
I personally haven’t managed to get much done other than to put away Halloween decorations, and I was going to try and hold on to this recipe until next Halloween… but I just couldn’t, I’m not very patient. Besides, now that I think of it you can just swap out the spiderwebs for snowflakes and you are good to go for an awesome Winter cocktail.
POM Hypnotized Spiders
Makes 2 cocktails
Pour 1/4 cup POM Cranberry reduction in a plastic baggie, or squeeze bottle. Draw 4 or 5 vertical lines in each martini glass from the bottom up. Then complete the spiderweb by starting out at the bottom of each glass and swirling it upwards as you squeeze the syrup.
In a martini shaker filled half-way with ice combine hpnotiq, vodka, orange juice, and 1 teaspoon POM Cranberry reduction. Shake well and served in prepared Martini glasses.
8 ounces POM Wonderful POM Cranberry Juice
1 cup granulated sugar
Combine juice and sugar in a small saucepan. Place over medium heat stirring occasionally until reduced by half. Approximately 20-30 minutes.
This delicious cocktail was inspired by a lovely little package that arrived at my doorstep from my friends at POM Wonderful, which contained a few bottles of POM Wonderful’s new POM Cranberry juice. It helped add the perfect kick to my cocktail and it didn’t do to shabby a job dressing up the martini glass.
